The future, it has been said, belongs to those who have the right knowledge and technology. In fact “we are no longer in the dispensation of age and experience. We are in the era of knowledge and information”. A true leader in the 21st century should be driven by information.
It was in realization of this that I went in search of new knowledge and to reflect on the road I have traveled in the last few years. The introspective journey also afforded me an opportunity to equip myself for the long road ahead.
I am therefore pleased to announce that today, Friday, December 13, 2019, I received an honorary doctorate degree in Public Administration from London Bridge Business School, United Kingdom, after completing an accelerated Advanced Executive training course on Global Leadership Masterclass at the Grand Excelsior in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In the course of this knowledge-filled journey, I have come to understand better our roles as leaders in this technology-driven 21st century. It is high time that we evolved from being transactional to transformational leaders.
As leaders we should lead by examples, as the society we find ourselves in is often the reflections of our actions and inactions as leaders. We should not wait for problems to arise before we solve them, rather we should strive to create an enabling environment that limits the problems from even occurring.
The time out was very rewarding and reinvigorating.
