In my brief but momentous stay at the National Assembly, we have amply demonstrated our commitment to the development of human capital of Ụmụ Idemili, having identified it as a fulcrum for the greater society we aspire for.
This commitment is in line with my promise to Ụmụ Idemili as contained in my Manifesto. I had promised to facilitate employment for Ụmụ Idemili. In fulfillment of this promise, I had knocked on doors of many Federal agencies and made case for no fewer than 283 Idemili young people looking for jobs; and this number keeps increasing daily.
Dividends of such efforts have continued to roll in. Recently, another batch of seven of the successful ones came calling to say thank you. Five of the seven, Dr. Mbelede N. G, Ofoje Bibian, Chukwuelue Miriam, Nwobi Chiamaka, and Chigor Nneka were employed into different academic and non-academic positions by Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The remaining two, Anyichie Ifeanyi and Okoye Chinenye were employed as Lecturer and Radiographer by Nigeria Maritime University, Delta State and Federal Medical Centre, Abakiliki respectively.
Dr. Mbelede who spoke on behalf of the group appreciated our sincere efforts in uplifting Ụmụ Idemili into better employment opportunities. She said that the individual experiences they have faced in their search for employment opportunities over the years have not been so pleasant, But through our commitment in human capital development we have put smiles on their faces by facilitating these employments.
Recall that I have earlier received different batches of Ụmụ Idemili who have secured employment positions through our efforts. It is interesting to note that those who were employed by Federal University of Technology, Owerri and Federal Capital Territory Administration, Abuja have completed their documentation and begun work in their respective positions.
Once again, I reiterate my commitment to ensuring a greater Idemili. My stay at the 9th National Assembly may have been short-lived but Ụmụ Idemili will continue to reap the fruits of the seeds we planted in our five months momentous stay at House of Representatives, as more of such successful employments will continue to roll in, in the coming days.
